WRC champions crowned at prize giving ceremony

The winners of this year’s World Rally Championship have been honoured in a glittering prize giving ceremony at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria.
Stars of the WRC joined winners from all FIA championships to collect their trophies at the annual gala show on Friday night, hosted by FIA president Jean Todt.
The presentation of the drivers' championship trophies to WRC victors Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia [below] and to Formula One winner Nico Rosberg were two of the evening's highlights.
Ogier’s fourth consecutive WRC title ties the Frenchman at joint second in the list of multiple title winners alongside legendary flying Finns Juha Kankkunen and Tommi Makinen.
In partnership with co-driver Ingrassia, Ogier took six wins and five podium finishes from 13 rounds and sealed the title in Spain with two events in hand.
His Volkswagen team bowed out from the WRC by collecting a fourth consecutive manufacturers' title.
Awards were handed out across the FIA’s sporting disciplines, including to Esapekka Lappi and Jane Ferm in WRC 2 and Simone Tempestini and Giovanni Bernacchini in the Junior WRC and WRC 3 categories.
