VW pair wows Buenos Aires fans
Huge crowds gathered in Buenos Aires last weekend as Volkswagen Motorsport kicked off YPF Rally Argentina (21 - 24 April) week with a spectacular street show in the country’s capital city.
Sébastien Ogier (below) and Andreas Mikkelsen put a Polo R World Rally Car through its paces on a specially-built circuit in the suburb of Tigre on Saturday, some dazzling donuts matched by breathtaking stunts from the Red Bull X Fighters freestyle motocross display team.
The event was screened live on Argentine television and the duo were back behind the wheel yesterday (Sunday) as they guided the Polo R on a tour through Buenos Aires’ trendy Palermo district.
The team then headed to the rally base of Villa Carlos Paz, from where the two-day recce for the fourth round of the FIA World Rally Championship begins tomorrow (Tuesday).
