Sustainable fuel switch for DMACK Trophy

The Drive DMACK Fiesta Trophy will become a showcase for the latest in sustainable fuel technology from Rally Poland, when all 12 Ford Fiesta R2s will switch from petrol to a reduced CO2 bio fuel.

After a successful debut season fuelling the Junior WRC in 2013, GUTTS, the world’s first supplier of sustainable race fuels, has become the official supplier to the trophy.
The Dutch firm will fill the DMACK cars with its FIA-approved GEM Fuel, a blend of gasoline, bio-ethanol and a new type of sustainable methanol that is produced by capturing carbon dioxide from industrial emissions and boasts a 97% CO2 reduction compared to regular petrol.
Dick Cormack, DMACK managing director, said: “As the proving ground for the next generation of rally stars, the Drive DMACK Fiesta Trophy is the perfect platform to also showcase innovative and exciting initiatives within motorsport. We welcome GEM Fuel as an important partner which will help our series boost sustainability within motorsport.”
Estonia’s Sander Pärn leads the trophy after the opening round at Rally de Portugal. Round two, in Poland, kicks off on 26 June.
