Review: McKlein yearbooks

Just in time for Christmas, the acclaimed photographers at McKlein have released two stunning hardback yearbooks that tell the story of two very different rallying eras.

Starting in the present, ‘Rallying 2018 - Moving Moments’ tells the story of this year’s gripping WRC season, and traces the year-long battle for championship honours fought between Thierry Neuville, Sébastien Ogier and Ott Tänak.

The 288-page book is a spectacular visual account of the year. The best images from McKlein illustrate the action and emotion from every round, while text from WRC veteran Anthony Peacock summarises the drama as it unfolded.

Written in both English and German, a selection of ‘Moving Moments’ and background features provide added in-depth content from WRC past and present, offering insight into the sport's unique character.

For classic rally fans, 'Rallying 1977' is hard to beat. The book is a beautiful picture-heavy record of a season that featured vehicles like the Fiat 131 Abarth, Ford Escort RS1800, Lancia Stratos, Opel Kadett GT/E, and Toyota Celica 2000 GT. At the wheel were drivers including Björn Waldegård, Bernard Darniche and Sandro Munari.

With text written by John Davenport and images from the McKlein archive, Rallying 1977 features all the WRC rounds as well as the most important ERC events and those counting towards the FIA Cup for Drivers from that cherished year.

Including features on the most important cars, this 500-page book – again written in both English and German – is ideal for collectors.
