Result: ProGrade Photo of the Year

Timo Anis’ stunning photograph of Sébastien Ogier attacking Rally Italia Sardegna’s dusty and rocky gravel roads has earned him the ProGrade Digital Photograph of the Year honour in our prestigious end-of-season WRC awards.

Anis is one of the world’s leading motorsport photographers who travels the globe to capture the excitement, raw emotion and drama of the FIA World Rally Championship.

We asked the championship’s permanently accredited media to submit their favourite image from the huge number each has taken during the 2019 season.

We had a record number of entries and our judging committee put together a stunning shortlist of 10 from those received – and asked our fans to vote for their favourite on wrc.com.

Runner-up to Anis’ fantastic action shot (pictured above) was Manrico Martella’s dramatic jump photograph of Thierry Neuville from Xion Rally Argentina (pictured below). Third was Romain Thuillier’s atmospheric image of café life from Rally Turkey (pictured bottom).

ProGrade Digital CEO Wes Brewer said the company was proud to sponsor the award again in 2019.

“As we enter our third year of WRC sponsorship, we are continually amazed at the quality and creativity in each of the submitted photographs for this competition.

“We are also proud to have our memory cards and workflow products used in-car and in the editing studio to make the production of WRC possible. Our congratulations to WRC for another successful season and to Timo Anis for capturing the winning photograph for 2019,” he added.
