New TV deal in Poland

Rally fans in Poland will enjoy increased WRC coverage following confirmation of a new broadcast agreement.
Premium pay TV network NC+ has agreed a deal with WRC Promoter to screen action in one of the championship’s key markets until the end of 2018.
The broadcaster will begin coverage this week from its home round, Orlen 74th Rally Poland, which is based in Mikolajki on 29 June - 2 July.
NC+ will show at least one live Sunday stage from each round, an hour-long post-event highlights show and the pre-event magazine preview programme across its Canal+, Canal+ Sport, Canal+ Sport 2 and nsport+ channels.
WRC joins a comprehensive portfolio of other major sports, including NBA basketball from North America, Premier League soccer in Britain and Ekstraklasa soccer in Poland, on NC+.
The agreement was negotiated by Sportradar, WRC’s TV rights distribution partner, and WRC Promoter Oliver Ciesla said the timing was perfect with round eight of the 13-rally series starting on Thursday evening.
“Poland is a major market for the WRC and we’re delighted to conclude this deal in time for this weekend’s rally. The event is the first of two super-fast fixtures in a month and fans can look forward to spectacular action from our exciting new-generation 2017 cars,” he said.
This weekend’s encounter will also receive extensive coverage in Poland on free-to-air network TVP. Fans should check TV listings for broadcast times on both networks.
