New night Super Special for Rally Australia

The organisers of Coates Hire Rally Australia have unveiled a brand new nighttime Super Special stage for this year’s event, round ten of the season, that runs from 11-14 September.

The 1.6km mixed tarmac and gravel stage is located next to the rally’s new service base at the C.ex Coffs International Stadium in Coffs Harbour, three kilometres from the previous location in Brelsford Park.
The new test, known as the Hyundai Super Special Stage, is expected to attract thousands of spectators on the Friday and Saturday night of the rally, when the world’s best drivers will tackle the tight and challenging route. Each driver will complete two laps.
“These will be nights packed with unforgettable entertainment - the Hyundai Super Special Stage will be a must-see highlight,” event manager David Catchpole said.
“Spectators will be able to get quite close to the action and experience the sight and sound of a World Rally Car at full tilt. I’m sure the course we have developed will provide a terrific challenge for drivers, with the inclusion of several spectacular jumps.”
The daytime Special Stages will be run on forestry and shire roads in the Coffs Coast region to the north, west and south of the Service Park.
