GB Countdown: The challenge
Drivers face complex stages and wild Welsh weather
Matthew will drive a Ford Fiesta RRC in the WRC 2 support category at the final round of the FIA World Rally Championship.
The former series regular will be reunited with co-driver Scott Martin, with whom he contested 57 WRC events, to mark the 10th anniversary of their championship debut.
Father Malcolm, now M-Sport World Rally Team boss, won four rounds en route to the 1994 British title and Matthew is bursting with excitement for his first proper WRC outing since Wales Rally GB two years ago.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve been behind the wheel of a rally car in competition and I can’t wait to get out and experience some of Wales Rally GB’s legendary stages. Scott and I are really looking forward to entertaining the home fans,” he said.
“The Michelin Pilot sport car is an important part of British rally history, as well as for us in the Wilson family,” he added.
