Meeke and Evans star at Sportel

WRC drivers Kris Meeke and Elfyn Evans were guests of WRC Promoter at this week’s Sportel business convention in Monaco (7 - 10 October).
Citroen pilot Meeke (above) and M-Sport’s Evans were joined by FIA WRC Manager Michèle Mouton at a dinner for WRC’s global TV broadcasters, hosted by Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM), organisers of Rallye Monte-Carlo.
Senior management from WRC Promoter, the company which organises the FIA World Rally Championship, outlined broadcast opportunities for the 2015 series to industry leaders over four days at the Grimaldi Forum.
Sportel is the most influential business convention for the global sports media industry and provided a perfect platform for WRC Promoter to present the championship’s programmes and media content for the next years.

“Sportel attracts the biggest names from the global sports media industry and we were delighted Kris and Elfyn could attend the dinner to meet broadcasters and speak passionately about the excitement and drama of WRC,” said WRC Promoter managing director Oliver Ciesla.
“ACM’s surroundings, which are so full of motorsport tradition and heritage, were the perfect location for us to entertain our broadcast colleagues in a unique way and we’re grateful to the club for hosting the dinner.
“Over four days we met senior executives from across the world and were hugely encouraged by their interest in WRC. As we broaden access to the sport across various media platforms, we remain focused on delivering a championship that will provide compelling and dramatic television across the globe,” added Ciesla.
