Ogier nets back-to- back Poland wins
Second for Mikkelsen earns 1-2 for Volkswagen
The British star of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, and TV series The Wire and Luther, sat alongside Sebastien Ogier for a high-speed blast around the streets of Monte-Carlo in a Volkswagen Polo R World Rally Car at the WRC season launch in January to find out more about the sport for his new four-part series, 'No Limits'.
A self confessed petrol-head, Elba has described rallying as ‘the pinnacle of motorsport’. Last year he got behind the wheel for a BBC documentary ’Idris Elba King of Speed’, and had lessons on a Finnish rally stage with 1981 Champion Ari Vatanen and his rally driving son Max.
In the first episode of his new No Limits series, Elba returns to the rally stages, this time alongside WRC co-driver Michael Orr. In later shows he tries his hand at drag racing, aerobatic flying and land speed record driving.
The first epiosode will air in the UK at 2100hrs on the Discovery channel. More information about the series can be found here.
