Hot, hot, hot for Mexico fiesta

There are many things to like about Rally Guanajuato Mexico – not least the fact that it means the WRC can enjoy some warm sunshine on its back for the first time in more than four months.

After snow, ice and fog during the opening two rounds in Monte-Carlo and Sweden, competitors are going to feel the heat in more ways than one at this weekend’s third round of the FIA World Rally Championship.

There is not a cloud in the sky at the rally base in León and forecaster UBIMET suggests it will stay like that throughout the rally, with air temperatures touching 29˚C and no chance of rain.

It will be a little cooler in the Sierra de Lobos and Sierra de Guanajuato mountains where most of the stages are held, but cockpit temperatures will still be high for the WRC’s galacticos.

Pass the sun cream!
