Help shape Finland's Champions' Park

The organisers of a new 'Champions’ Park' to honour Finnish rally stars in the sport's spiritual home in Finland, the city of Jyväskylä, have invited rally fans to get involved in the final design.

On Thursday 30 July, shortly before the start of Neste Oil Rally Finland, eleven trees will be planted to establish the park in the Lutakko area of the city, close to the rally headquarters.

Each tree will be allocated to a Finnish rally hero of the past and the choice of which tree represents which driver will be made by a public poll.

The list of drivers honoured includes former World Champions Ari Vatanen, Timo Salonen, Hannu Mikkola, Tommi Makinen, Juha Kankkunen and Marcus Grönholm.

Also celebrated are Flying Finns Rauno Aaltonen, Timo Mäkinen, Markku Alén, Simo R. Lampinen, and father and son Pauli and Henri Toivonen.

The trees will be planted by the drivers themselves or their representatives, and with so much driving talent in one place it promises to be a very special occasion. We'll film the event and will bring it to you on our wrc.com channels.
