Four drivers fined after stage diversion
Sébastien Ogier, Thierry Neuville, Dani Sordo and Martin Prokop have each been fined 1,000 Euros for straying off route at XION Rally Argentina.
The drivers took the same wrong turn on Friday's opening Agua De Oro - Ascochinga stage (SS2) - adding a 150 metre detour to the correct route.
Meeting today, rally stewards accepted that all four had recorded the stage details incorrectly during the pre-event recce and did not realise their error.
But they judged that the deviation was a safety hazard, and handed each driver a fine and a reprimand that read: "More attention must be exercised in taking the notes to avoid any such situations."
