Finn returns to competition after a year away
WRC 5 is scheduled for release in Autumn 2015 and is still in its development 'beta' phase, but the 3m30s of gameplay footage unveiled today [below] shows the latest edition of the hugely popular series is nearing completion.
The clip puts viewers in the driving gloves of double World Champion Sébastien Ogier in his Volkswagen Polo R WRC on the roads of Vodafone Rally de Portugal. One complete stage is featured, on a road surface that is 90% gravel and 10% asphalt.
The companies behind the game, Bigben Interactive and Kylotonn Games, say today's video footage is still very much work in progress and that some elements are not final or, in the case of the Head Up Display (HUD) and audio / visual pacenotes, are missing.
In a statement, Bigben and Kylotonn said: "Teams are still working hard on these points in order to provide the best rally experience ever seen in a video game. Information will come later about pacenotes and how the job has been done to ensure the highest level of precision."
The new game will be available later this year for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation®4, Playstation®3, PlayStation®Vita and PC.
