Final gamble of the year for Ogier
WRC will hold centre stage on prime-time TV this weekend when Sébastien Ogier tackles a special challenge during the final episode of the popular Saturday night German entertainment show ‘Wetten, dass…?’ (You Bet!) on ZDF.
Ogier and his Volkswagen Polo R WRC will take on 21-year-old trainee sports teacher Jakob Vöckler, from Munich, who has bet he can be quicker than the Frenchman over a unique special stage.
“The bet itself is still top secret,” said the double world champion. “However, it is definitely worth tuning in, as it is going to be spectacular. I am really looking forward to it.”
‘Wetten, dass..?’ has been broadcast live for 33 years and Saturday’s episode (20.15 CET), which will be filmed in Nuremberg, will be the 215th and final programme.
