EXCLUSIVE: Tänak on his M-Sport comeback
The Estonian will take Hirvonen’s seat on 2015
The Drive DMACK Fiesta Shoot-Out finalists will complete a range of assessments at M-Sport’s UK base with the winner earning a drive on a WRC 2 round in 2015.
Briton Cave, who finished runner-up in the Drive DMACK Fiesta Trophy this season, showed his pace in a WRC 2 car by finishing fourth in the category at Wales Rally GB this month (above). Finn Vatanen finished top rookie in the Trophy series for R2 cars.
The other five finalists are Dutch trio Kevin van Deijne, Mats van den Brand and Timo van der Marel, Luxembourg’s Hugo Arellano and Ralfs Sirmacis, from Latvia.
The drivers will undergo physical, mental and media assessments next Wednesday before their driving skills are scrutinised by new M-Sport driver Ott Tänak the next day.
