Certina Timing Award 2016

Today we present the final category in our big week of voting for the WRC Gala Dinner and Awards in Sydney later this month – and it’s all about the split-second timing that makes the difference between winning and losing!

Win a superb Certina DS-2 Chronograph watch

We’ve selected four great highlights from the 2016 WRC season in which the stopwatch was the defining factor and put them into a video compilation below. Now we want you to pick your favourite and vote for the Certina Timing Award 2016.

The nominees are:

Kris Meeke – stunning victory at Neste Rally Finland was achieved at a remarkable average speed of 126.60kph, setting a new record for the fastest WRC round in history.

Sébastien Ogier – completed a clean sweep of four stage victories in the opening leg at the Che Guevara Energy Drink Tour de Corse.

Hayden Paddon – hurtled down the famous El Condor mountain to outgun Sébastien Ogier in YPF Rally Argentina’s Power Stage and secure his maiden WRC win.

Dani Sordo – fended off team-mate Thierry Neuville’s all-or-nothing charge in ADAC Rallye Deutschland’s Power Stage to claim second in the rally by 0.1sec.

The winner will be announced at the glamorous awards evening in Sydney, which follows the WRC’s final round at Kennards Hire Rally Australia (17 - 20 November).

It is being organised by Rally Australia and WRC Promoter on Monday 21 November and more than 200 guests and celebrities are due to attend at the Museum of Contemporary Art, across the water from the Opera House.

While casting your vote you can also enter our fantastic competition to win a superb Certina DS-2 Chronograph watch, worth more than 650 euros.
