Block volleys a video winner

Ever heard of footkhana? No, we haven’t either.

Offenbar vereint es die fahrerische Klasse eines weltberühmten Piloten und die Genialität eines weltberühmten Fußballers in einem Head-to-Head-Wettbewerb: Ein Mann in einer Maschine gegen einen Mann auf seinen Füßen – offenbar.

Genauer gesagt: Ken Block vs. Neymar . Castrol brachte den WRC-Piloten und den brasilianischen Star-Kicker für diesen speziellen Wettkampf zusammen.

Block setzte seinen Ford Fiesta ein, um selbst Tore zu erzielen, aber auch, um Neymar vom schießen solcher abzuhalten. Wie Block das anstellte? Mit atemberaubenden Slidings.

Wie das erste Footkhana-Match der Geschichte ausgegangen ist, verraten wir natürlich nicht. Dazu müsst ihr hier schon selbst herausfinden …

„Ich hätte niemals gedacht, dass ich einmal versuchen würde, mit meinem Ford Fiesta Tore zu schießen, aber wir hatten eine Menge Spaß“, erklärte Block, der bei der Spanien-Rallye im Oktober seinen einzigen WRC-Event in diesem Jahr bestreiten wird.

Apparently, it combines world-famous driving with world-famous football skills in a head-to-head competition of man in a machine versus man and his feet. Apparently.

Which is a somewhat round-the-houses way of saying that, with the World Cup fast approaching, WRC driver Ken Block, Brazilian soccer star Neymar and Castrol got together to make a fun video.

Block uses his power sliding Ford Fiesta to not only score goals, but to try to prevent the Barcelona striker from doing so. Really!

And the result of the world’s first footkhana match?  Well, we won’t spoil it for you, so you will have to go here and take a look.

“Never in a million years did I think I’d ever be trying to score goals with my Ford Fiesta, but it actually was a ton of fun for both of us,” said Block.

Block is scheduled to make his only WRC appearance of the season at Rally de España in October.
