Abu Dhabi Total WRT tops best livery poll
Last month we asked wrc.com readers to choose the best looking WRC car livery from the current season. Thousands of votes were cast and we can now reveal that the winner is... The Abu Dhabi Total World Rally Team!
It was a tight contest, with the Abu Dhabi-backed squad taking 34 per cent of the vote - just four per cent more than last year's winners, M-Sport. Hyundai took third place with 16 per cent.
The Abu Dhabi Team livery is all new for 2016, and replaces the familiar manufacturer branding we're used to seeing on the DS3 World Rally Cars.
Team patron Khalid Al-Qassimi was personally involved in the new design and was delighted with how it had been received.
"I would like to thank the fans all over the world for choosing the best livery in WRC! we are happy to see this result," he said. "I had a bit of confidence about winning the poll based on the great feedback we received ever since we published the first photos. Also, the feedback from Monte-Carlo was very encouraging.
"The design is based on Abu Dhabi destination identity's colour, we added our touches to the livery with emotions to please the WRC fans as well as the media," he added.
