ACI drivers seek home advantage in Italy

Italian drivers dominate the WRC 3 entry at Rally Italia Sardegna (11 - 14 June) as the event marks the second outing for the ACI Team Italia young driver training scheme.

Having debuted in Portugal last month, Andrea Crugnola (Renault Clio R3T), Fabio Andolfi and Giuseppe Testa (both Peugeot 208 R2) will take to the stages on home ground as part of their six-event WRC programme.

Andolfi will be even keener for success as co-driver Simone Scattolin is competing in his 50th WRC event.

Teemu Suninen is the only other starter, the Finn also part of a young driver development programme. He is a member of Toyota’s training squad ahead of their return to WRC in 2017 and will drive Citroën’s DS 3 R3T.
