Lefebvre excluded from Rally Finland
Stéphane Lefebvre, who finished third in WRC 2 at Neste Oil Rally Finland, was excluded on Sunday night for using illegal software in the ECU of Citroën’s DS 3 RRC.
Event stewards received a report from FIA technical delegate Jérôme Toquet which stated that the software in the car’s ECU was not homologated.
Citroën’s Benoit Nogier admitted it was not homologated but couldn’t say if there was any difference between that and the homologated version.
Lefebvre’s exclusion means Yurii Protasov is promoted to third in WRC 2. Scott Pedder, Anders Grøndal and Juan Carlos complete the revised top six.
