Munster confirmed for Rallye Monte-Carlo 2026 with M-Sport Ford

The season opener marks a return to the event where Munster claimed his first career WRC stage win last year, although no further outings have yet been confirmed.
“I’m really happy and looking forward to starting the season in Monte-Carlo,” Munster said. “It’s where I took my first WRC stage win, and it’s always an event with tricky conditions, sometimes even full winter conditions with snow and ice.
“The stages are quite different from previous years, with a mix of new roads and some returning favourites, so that’s an exciting new challenge.”
Munster also highlighted confidence in M-Sport’s package following encouraging performances during the 2025 season, particularly on Hankook rubber.
“We’ve seen throughout 2025 that the Puma Rally1 has performed well there on the Hankook soft tyres, and I know we have all the ingredients to do well,” he said.
January, however, will be a demanding one. Munster is also set to take part in the Dakar Rally - co-driving for Greek driver Jourdan Serderidis - before switching focus immediately to Monte-Carlo preparations, with recce beginning the day after Dakar concludes.
“It will be a challenge, especially with going straight from Dakar directly into Monte-Carlo recce the following day, so January will be very busy,” he admitted. “But I’ll have time to sleep in February!”
Rallye Monte-Carlo takes place from 22 - 25 January and opens the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship season.
