The 24-year-old, partnered once again by co-driver Siim Oja, will begin his season on the iconic asphalt of Rallye Monte-Carlo before heading to the snow of Rally Sweden, where the pair will make their first points-scoring appearance of the year. An additional outing on Safari Rally Kenya in March will follow, adding one of the championship’s toughest challenges to his early-season programme.
Jürgenson stepped up to WRC2 with M-Sport in 2025 after clinching the Junior WRC title the previous season, graduating through the FIA Rally Star programme. He adapted quickly to Rally2 machinery, contesting six WRC events alongside a full British Rally Championship campaign, where he finished second overall.
His season was highlighted by a standout second-place finish on the ERC round of Rali Ceredigion, while further European experience followed at the Croatia Rally finale. There, Jürgenson ran inside the podium positions for much of the event before securing fourth after a close fight with team-mate Jon Armstrong.
The opening events of 2026 will also see Jürgenson play a key role in the competitive debut of M-Sport’s latest Ford Fiesta Rally2 upgrade package. The Estonian has worked closely with the engineering team throughout 2025 and will introduce the updated specification in FIA WRC2 competition.
The latest evolution of the Fiesta Rally2 includes engine and electrical updates, revised suspension geometry, improved cockpit and rear brake cooling, and a lightweight components package. Initial production has been prioritised for new car sales, with a limited batch of upgrade kits set to be made available to existing customers from April.
M-Sport Ford principal Richard Millener said Jürgenson’s continued involvement was a natural next step.
“Romet has shown a very mature approach since stepping into Rally2, both in terms of his driving and the way he works with the team,” he said. “His performances in 2025 confirmed that he belongs at this level, and starting the 2026 WRC2 season on some of the most demanding events on the calendar will be a great next step for him and Siim.

“It’s especially exciting that this coincides with the launch of the Fiesta Rally2 upgrades, and we’re looking forward to seeing how he continues to develop.”
Jürgenson said the opportunity to begin a second consecutive WRC2 season with M-Sport was one he relished.
“I’m super happy and feel privileged to be starting my second season with M-Sport in WRC2,” he said. “To begin at Monte-Carlo, one of the most iconic events, is really special, and gaining experience there is so important. With Jännerrallye and testing beforehand, it should be an exciting start to the year.
“Going back to Sweden and then tackling Kenya will be a big challenge, but revisiting rallies from last season is a great opportunity to take the next step. With the updates on the car, I feel really positive and eager to get going.”
