Entry List: Safari Rally Kenya 2026
Toyota Gazoo Racing will field five GR Yaris Rally1 cars at Safari Rally Kenya (12–15 March), with Sébastien Ogier returning to bolster the defending manufacturers’ champions’ line-up.
The Japanese manufacturer mounts a big attack for the Naivasha-based gravel fixture, headlined by the return of nine-time world champion Ogier. The Frenchman resumes his part-time campaign alongside full-season contenders Elfyn Evans and Oliver Solberg. Takamoto Katsuta and Sami Pajari complete the GR Yaris Rally1 squad, with Pajari nominated under the separate Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT2 entry.
Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT sticks with the same trio which completed last week's Rally Sweden. Thierry Neuville leads the charge, joined by Adrien Fourmaux and part-time Finn Esapekka Lappi in the third i20 N Rally1.
M-Sport Ford fields two Puma Rally1 cars for Joshua McErlean and Jon Armstrong as the Cumbrian squad continues its development-focused campaign.
Away from Rally1, WRC2 boasts another stacked entry for what is traditionally one of the season’s most attritional contests. Gus Greensmith will begin his WRC2 campaign behind the wheel of a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 - switching from the Škoda he used last season - while former champion Andreas Mikkelsen returns to the category with Toksport WRT in a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.
They are joined by Robert Virves, also entered by Toksport, while 2024 Junior WRC champion Romet Jürgenson continues his step up in an M-Sport Ford Fiesta Rally2.
Local interest remains strong. Reigning African champion Karan Patel heads the Kenyan contingent in a Škoda Fabia Rally2, with multiple Safari winner Carl “Flash” Tundo entered in a Ford Fiesta Rally2.
