It was another convincing victory for the teenage sensation from Lebanon with his closest rival Nexl finishing more than three-and-a-half seconds behind. Rounding out the podium with his first-ever top-three finish was Triton’s Katana.
Katana’s personal-best performance helped him moved up to eighth in the overall standings, meaning he currently holds the final available ticket to the season finale.
Nexl’s second-place finish sees the defending champion leapfrog his Race Clutch team-mate Izamusing into third spot in the overall standings and is now quickly closing in on the absent Kazunakota.
The Japanese youngster was missing from action for a third consecutive event. The eRally Driver had firmly established himself as one of the top drivers to watch in 2022 but is now in danger of missing out on a spot in the final.
His absence has also hamstrung the hopes of eRally Drivers in the teams’ championship. They are now 91 points behind Race Clutch who are cruising towards a third consecutive title.
Attention now turns to Estonia from 08-11 July for the 11th of 13 rounds.
