Race Clutch claim lead despite Sami-Joe’s continued dominance

Sami-Joe has extended his winning run in the eSports WRC Championship presented by Toyota Gazoo Racing to seven victories after taking out Rally Turkey (30 April – 03 May), but it was not all smiles as his team reneged their lead in the teams’ standings.

The Lebanese teen sensation has been in insatiable form throughout 2021, maintaining a perfect record through the first seven rounds of the season. His latest victory was no less impressive, putting more than three-and-a-half seconds between himself and his closest rival, Noel. Rounding out the podium, almost five seconds behind Sami-Joe, was two-time former world champion Nexl.

This meant good news for Race Clutch, with both Noel and Nexl representing the French-based team, while their team-mate Izamusing snuck into the top five in fifth position, earning their side 45 points to move two points ahead of Seventh Gear e-Sports Club in the overall standings. eRally drivers hold onto third spot, extending their lead over Williams eSports to 14 points.

The second-placed finish for Noel catapults him up the leaderboard, and he now sits just one point behind Kriim and Izamusing who share third spot. Nexl remains in second.

Portugal is the next event off the ranks, taking place from 14-17 May.
