Trio fights for
JWRC runner-up

Three drivers will start Wales Rally GB (13 - 16 November) intent on securing the runner-up position in the FIA Junior WRC.

Stéphane Lefebvre secured the title with a round to spare in France last month, but the fight for second place goes down to the wire in Britain, with Alastair Fisher, Quentin Giordano and Martin Koči in the hunt in Citroen DS3 R3s.

Fisher starts as favourite after winning the category in France. He leads Giordano by three points with Koči a further six points back, and the Northern Irishman has experience on his side after claiming a WRC Academy podium at his Wales Rally GB debut in 2011.

However, after finishing 10th at the opening round in Portugal, Giordano (pictured below) has been on the podium at every round since. Neither can Koči be ruled out, as the Slovakian is the only driver apart from Lefebvre to have won a stage at every round.

After missing the rounds in Germany and France, Australian Molly Taylor returns to the action. She has the most experience of the Welsh forests and finished the rally in both 2012 and 2013.

There will be a new face in the JWRC line-up as Finn Henri Haapamäki starts only his third WRC event. He has twice competed at his home rally and won his class there in August.
