About the Rally

The Acropolis Rally doesn’t care about reputations. It’s a throwback to rallying’s toughest roots – rough, relentless, and utterly unforgiving. Known as the ‘Rally of Gods’, Greece’s round of the WRC is one of the season’s most demanding events, combining searing heat with jagged gravel tracks that carve through the mountains north of Athens.
Based out of Lamia since its WRC return in 2021, the event starts with a spectacular ceremonial launch beneath the ancient Acropolis monument in the heart of Athens before heading deep into the hills. It’s a rally that has a habit of shaking up the leaderboard and exposing the limits of both car and crew.

The Challenge

There’s no hiding at the Acropolis. The stages are rocky, narrow, and brutal – with some sections breaking up fast as the field passes through. Crews must manage high tyre wear, extreme cockpit temperatures, and suspension-destroying surfaces across long competitive days.
Rain can also be a wildcard. A bone-dry stage on the first pass can turn into a muddy trap on the second. And with a remote tyre zones on Friday and tyre strategy playing a massive role, the rally becomes as much about decision-making as driving.
Survival often beats speed here – and those who reach Sunday intact are usually rewarded handsomely.
