Nandan: Bring it on
Hyundai boss eager to get title challenge underway
Just a month after the coronation of French 2017 champion, Lohan 'TX3_NEXL' Blanc [see video below], the competition returns with a revised format for its third season and is open to all players of WRC 7, the official game of the WRC.
The first change concerns the calendar, which has been redesigned to make the competition even more dynamic.
This year's eSports WRC rounds will follow each other more rapidly than the real life WRC events, allowing the 2018 eSports WRC final to be scheduled for the late summer. Details of the final will be announced at a later date.
But the biggest development in the third WRC eSports season is the introduction of a teams' championship.
Invited eSports racing teams, each comprising up to five players, will face off simultaneously in the individual championships in an attempt to win the inaugural world eSports WRC teams title.
At each rally, points scored by the three best drivers in each team will be added to the team's score.
The team championship roster will include teams known throughout the world of eSports racing games. The final teams entry list will be revealed before Rallye Monte-Carlo gets underway.
