About Enni Mälkönen

After a historic run through the support categories, she steps into the high-pressure environment of the Hyundai Shell Mobis World Rally Team.
Mälkönen first made global headlines in 2022 when she became the first-ever female champion in a WRC-sanctioned category, clinching the WRC3 co-drivers’ title alongside Sami Pajari. She quickly followed this with a dominant 2024 campaign in WRC2, where her technical mastery helped Pajari secure the title and earn a promotion to the Rally1 class.
Despite a sudden split with Pajari at the end of that year, Mälkönen’s reputation ensured she wasn't out of a car for long. She teamed up with Esapekka Lappi for a 2025 campaign that saw the duo dominate the field in the Finnish Rally Championship, proving their immediate chemistry by taking five wins and the national title.
Partnering Lappi in a shared third Hyundai i20 N Rally1 for 2026, her experience in managing high-speed pace notes on the WRC’s fastest events will be a critical asset for Hyundai as they look to dethrone Toyota in the manufacturers' standings.
