Guerra has flown the flag for Mexico in the WRC for more than 15 years.

He made his WRC debut at his home round in 2006, the same year he won the national title, and topped the Group N category in Mexico at his third attempt two seasons later.

Three years in the Spanish gravel championship followed and in 2010 he sealed the title, prompting a step up to the world stage in 2011 in the Production Car championship.

After a learning year, Guerra began his 2012 campaign with back-to-back victories in Mexico and Argentina. He secured the crown with a third win at the final round in Spain, becoming the first Mexican to win a WRC title.

Guerra made his World Rally Car debut in 2013, driving a Citroën DS 3 WRC to eighth at his home event. A year later he recorded a career best sixth place in Mexico in a Ford Fiesta WRC, but a lack of funding restricted him to one-off appearances in the following seasons.

He made a fresh start in 2017, campaigning a Skoda Fabia R5 in WRC 2. He finished fifth and two years later bagged third, including victory on home ground.

After two years away Guerra returns in 2022 in a Fabia Rally2 evo.
