Tom Kristensson

Biography

Tom Kristensson made his name as one of rallying’s shining young stars by winning the FIA Junior WRC in 2020 at the wheel of an M-Sport Ford Fiesta Rally4.

The Swede began his journey on local rallies driving self-prepared Volvo cars. After winning his class in the national championship in 2015, he decided to try to turn his hobby into a career.

He switched to a front-wheel-drive Opel Adam which he piloted for two seasons and steered to the ADAC Opel Rallye Cup title in Germany in 2017.

His prize was a factory-backed drive in the 2018 European Championship with an Adam R2 and he ended the year second in the ERC3 category.

In 2019 Kristensson graduated into the Junior WRC. A puncture at the season-closing Rally GB cost the youngster the title in his maiden year but he made amends by sealing glory in 2020 after an impressive campaign in which he won three of the four rounds.

In 2021 he progresses to the ultra-competitive WRC2 championship driving a Fiesta Rally2 for the M-Sport Ford Team, for whom he has also been involved in the development of the new Fiesta Rally3 car.
