Neuville’s path to the top began in St Vith, where he first stepped into a rally car at 19. His rise was swift; within three years, he was making waves in the Junior WRC and IRC. After a learning year with Citroën in 2012, his 2013 season with M-Sport saw him finish as championship runner-up - a position that would become familiar in the years to follow.
Hyundai signed Neuville for their factory return in 2014, and he repaid their faith with a maiden victory at Rallye Deutschland that same year. Between 2016 and 2019, he finished as vice-champion four times, often losing out in heart-pounding finales.
The 2024 season proved to be his masterpiece. Seizing control from the opening round with an emphatic victory at Rallye Monte-Carlo, Neuville displayed a new level of composure. Managing his lead through a high-pressure campaign, he clinched the title at the final round in Japan, sparking emotional celebrations for a driver who had waited 11 years for the crown.
His 2025 title defense was a test of character. While the season was marred by frustrations - including a heavy crash in Sardinia and a bridge impact at the Central European Rally that ended his mathematical title hopes - Neuville refused to finish the year quietly. At the season-ending Rally Saudi Arabia, he dominated the desert terrain to claim an emphatic victory. It was his first win of the season and a powerful statement of intent as he prepares to reclaim his crown in 2026.
