Ogier will always consider Rallye Monte-Carlo as his true
home, but Secto Rally Finland is headquartered just around the Jyväskylä corner
from Toyota Gazoo Racing’s factory and next week’s penultimate WRC round of the
season will include action not far from Ogier’s Munich home.
“It's nice to have many kind of home rallies for me,” he
said. “Here [CER] it's another home event, only two hours away from Munich.
Last year there were a lot of people at this rally and I'm sure it will be the
case this year again.”
Ogier admitted his team had one aim for the final WRC action
in Europe.
He said: “We are really motivated now to push for the last
two events and the target is clear, win the last two races and try to win this
manufacturer title. It’s a big change to be back on the Tarmac, obviously it’s
quite a long time without driving the car [on asphalt], so it's always fun
coming back on the surface – but again a lot of work with only one day of
testing to try to be ready for very specific rallies.”
Ogier admitted the tri-nation format of the event brings a
longer liaison sections to link some of central Europe’s most challenging
roads.
He added: “I think the route itself is very exhausting for
us drivers, a lot of road sections and different types of road in one weekend.
First, the Czech Republic roads are bumpy, fast, low-grip and then some more,
let's say, flowing and nice stages towards Austria. In Germany, let’s see what
we get and hope the weather isn’t as challenging as last year.”
