Competing in his third event aboard the M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1 following impressive outings in Poland and Latvia, Sesks was sidelined after SS3 with two damaged tyres and only one spare wheel. The trouble began when he ran wide on a right-hander during the San Rosendo stage, clipping a bank and causing the damage.
“I got caught in the loose gravel and we hit the bank,” he explained. “It's a double puncture and we don't have the second spare, so [we are in] big trouble now."
While Sesks will miss today's remaining three stages, he is set to rejoin the action from Saturday morning onwards.
