Hyundai’s Estonian star endured a tough summer, scoring just 37 points from a possible 90 across events in Poland, Latvia and Finland.
While he arrives in Lamia, where this year's Acropolis Rally is based, 31 points down on team-mate Thierry Neuville, the 2019 champion is optimistic of a good score from an event which will reward a calculated and quick approach.
Talking about the challenge which lies ahead at round 10, Tänak said: “The profile at Acropolis Rally is nice: the roads are wider than Portugal and Sardinia and the surface is rougher and slower, conditions in which the car has been previously performed well.

Tänak targets Acropolis Rally rebound
Ott Tänak is looking to get his challenge for a second FIA World Rally Championship title firmly back on track at this week’s EKO Acropolis Rally Greece (5 - 8 September).
“This is an event you can enjoy as a driver, but the rough gravel can make the loop quite demanding for both the car and crew.”
Regarding the demands the Acropolis makes on the car and the crew, he added: “You need to have a well calibrated car to get a good rhythm and the better the feeling in the car, the easier it is to do a good job. You need to be able to trust it while still feeling the limits. Martin [Järveoja, co-driver] and I are definitely looking forward to a strong result for the team and for ourselves to keep us in the championship fight.”
