Croatia-bound Fourmaux chases podium hat-trick

Third-place finishes at Rally Sweden and last time out on Safari Rally Kenya have helped place the Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid driver third in the championship three rounds in. He’s keen to maintain that consistent performance into the lanes around Croatian capital Zagreb.

Fourmaux said: “Two podiums in two rallies is a really great start to the season, and now we need to continue. We have had one podium on snow, one on gravel, so we just need one on Tarmac now.

“Last time in Kenya, I was really pleased for the team. It was a fantastic weekend, the team has been doing a really good job the whole time, the car has been really reliable and we had no issues at all. The result belonged to the team as well. OK, we have been sensible, but it has been really positive. When I came back [to the Puma] for this year, I was thinking to the podium in the second half of the season, but we’re already there.”

Fourmaux was quick to point out that his early season pace will reap further reward next week.

“We will have the good place on the road, starting third in Croatia,” he added. “This is positive.”
