New FORUM8 WRC2 Most Stage Wins Award brings added excitement in 2024

Competitors in WRC2 will have an added incentive this season with the introduction of a new award, sponsored by longstanding FIA World Rally Championship partner FORUM8.

Starting from Rallye Monte-Carlo (25 – 28 January), the ‘FORUM8 WRC2 Most Stage Wins Award’ is set to become a regular highlight on round legs of the 2024 WRC. A coveted trophy will be bestowed upon the WRC2 crew securing the highest number of stage wins at each rally, with an overall accolade also presented at the season-ending FORUM8 Rally Japan.

FORUM8 President Yuji Ito expressed the motivation behind the creation of the new award, stating: “FORUM8 has established this new award system to recognise the outstanding drivers competing in the WRC2 class,” said FORUM8 President Yuji Ito.  “The award aims to attract a wider fanbase by advancing rallying itself and highlighting the talent of the future. We hope that this initiative will provide a new stimulus for rally fans and entrants in Japan and abroad, and contribute to the development of the mobility industry and Japanese automobile culture.”

A total of twenty-one WRC2 crews will start Rallye Monte-Carlo later today, featuring cars from notable manufacturers such as Citroën, Toyota, Hyundai and Ford. Nikolay Gryazin, behind the wheel of a Citroën C3 Rally2, was the fastest driver during Wednesday afternoon’s shakedown.

FORUM8 develops, sells and provides support for a wide range of design, analysis and VR software in the civil engineering field. It has been the headline sponsor of Japan’s WRC round since 2022.
