WRC Academy:
The class of 2011.
Part four

Twenty drivers have registered for the inaugural FIA WRC Academy so far with more expected to follow prior to the 31 March deadline.

Wrc.com has been publishing profiles of all drivers and co-drivers taking part in the all-new training category. Here is the fourth and final batch of the class of 2011.

Fredrik Ahlin
Nationality: Swedish
Date of birth: 2 August 1991
Co-driver: Hakan Jacobsson
Ahlin raced karts for five years before taking up rallying in 2008. His record to date is impressive with several outright wins on events in Sweden plus a sixth overall finish on the demanding South Swedish Rally. One of six Pirelli Star Drivers contesting the WRC Academy in 2011, Ahlin’s rallying hero is seven-time champion Sebastien Loeb.

Jan Cerny
Nationality: Czech
Date of birth: 6 June 1990
Co-driver: Pavel Kohout
Cerny spent three years competing in rallycross before his switch to rallying in 2007 as a 16-year-old. He won the two-wheel-drive section of the European Rally Championship in 2010. His performances were enough to qualify him for the Pirelli Star Driver shootout in Spain last October where he emerged as one of six winners.

Victor Henriksson
Nationality: Swedish
Date of birth: 1 August 1988
Co-driver: Joel Ardell
A former karter, Henriksson has extensive experience rallying Fiestas. In 2006 he won the inaugural Fiesta SportTrophy International Shootout, which earned him a year’s work experience with the factory Ford World Rally Team. With five appearances at world championship level prior to the start of 2011, Henriksson has plenty of experience to call upon.

Jose Suarez
Nationality: Spanish
Date of birth: 22 October 1990
Co-driver: Candido Carrera
Suarez, who hails from Oviedo, the birthplace of double Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso, took up rallying in 2009 and claimed his best result to date one year later when he won the gravel-based Rallye de la Rioja in Spain. He made his world championship debut on RACC Rally de Espana later that season, which remains his only start in the WRC prior to 2011.

Molly Taylor
Nationality: Australian
Date of birth: 6 May 1988
Co-driver: Rebecca Smart
Taylor’s introduction to motorsport came through her co-driving mother Coral, who achieved significant success in the family’s native Australia. Taylor Jr’s early competitive forays were in autotests run by her local car club. After winning the Australian two-wheel-drive rally title in 2008, Taylor moved to the UK and won the British Ladies’ crown in 2009 and 2010 before she secured one of six Pirelli Star Driver nominations for the WRC Academy.
