The winner of the rookie award will be a driver who did not register for a round of the Academy in 2011 and finishes highest in this season’s overall classification for the Fiesta-based series.
M-Sport managing director Malcolm Wilson said: “The [FIA WRC] Academy is a great series with a fantastic prize, which attracts a lot of very talented young drivers. Unfortunately, there can be only one winner. Considering the difference experience can make in the WRC, we wanted to make sure those drivers who impress with limited experience are also rewarded.
“For those contesting the Academy, the Fiesta S2000 is the next step on Ford and M-Sport’s ladder of opportunity, and the test we are offering will certainly help the winner develop their driving. Not only will they have the chance to test the car, but they will also receive one-to-one tuition from one of our top WRC drivers.”
The six-round Academy starts on the Vodafone Rally de Portugal at the end of next month.
