move

Rising talent John MacCrone wants to contest the FIA WRC Academy in 2012 - and is calling on his fellow citizens to enable him to achieve his dream.

MacCrone, part of the British motorsport association’s prestigious Team UK training programme, is trying to source the backing to enter the hugely successful series, which supports six rounds of the FIA World Rally Championship powered by Nokia this season.

The 22-year-old, who competes under the Rally Team Scotland banner, has established The Clan to encourage supporters to contribute vital funds to his campaign. By investing £50 supporters will get regular updates, prizes and a small presence on the roof of MacCrone’s Fiesta. Businesses can also assist but are required to make a minimum contribution of £100.

MacCrone and co-driver Stuart Loudon already have form in the Ford Fiesta R2, which is used as standard in the WRC Academy after winning their class in the car on Wales Rally GB last November.

More information can be found on Rally Team Scotland’s Facebook page.
