Promoter North One Sport has issued regulations and application forms for the exciting young-driver training series, which carries a 500,000 Euros scholarship as its top prize.
The WRC Academy Cup will be contested on six rounds of the 2012 WRC in Portugal, Greece, Finland, Germany, France and Spain. Drivers count their best five scores from a possible six, meaning they can discount their worst result from their final total.
All competitors will use identical Ford Fiesta R2s prepared by M-Sport from a factory in Krakow, Poland. Pirelli is the official control tyre supplier.
To be eligible to take part, drivers must be born on or after 14 November 1986 and have not competed as a priority driver on more than seven rounds of the WRC prior to 1 January 2012.
