Fuchs switches
cars for PWRC
bid

Nicolas Fuchs will get a new car and a new team when he resumes his bid for the FIA Production Car World Rally Championship on the Acropolis Rally in Greece later this month.

Fuchs, a multiple Peruvian rally champion, is switching from a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX to a Subaru Impreza run by Symtech Racing, the team behind Hayden Paddon’s PWRC title triumph in 2011.

He said: “We were all able to see last year how quick and reliable the Symtech Racing Subaru Impreza was, and I was also impressed by the professionalism of the whole team. Once my budget was finalised it was an easy decision: I was going to take the plunge with Symtech. In order to reduce costs, I used my own car in Mexico and Argentina. Up to now we've been second twice and that puts us in a good position in the PWRC standings. The next rallies are going to be very interesting working with Symtech."

Symtech’s Dirk Van der Sluys added: “It's great to be back at the cutting-edge of the PWRC again, with a driver of Nico's calibre, who is going to allow us to fight at the front.”
