Fuchs out of
luck in Greece

Nicolas Fuchs' dream of a maiden victory in the Production Car World Rally Championship continues to elude him after he was forced to retire from the Acropolis Rally with two stages remaining.

Fuchs, from Peru, started stage 20 with a commanding lead of 4m40s over Ukraine’s Valeriy Gorban but completed the run with damaged rear suspension on his Symtech Racing Subaru Impreza and his lead slashed to 2m16.8s.

Despite attempting to make repairs at the stage finish, the damage was too great for Fuchs to continue and he was unable to continue. “I don’t know what happened, I didn’t hit nothing,” he said. “I am very disappointed.”

With Fuchs out, Gorban - who is also chasing his maiden PWRC success - now tops the division for Mentos Ascania Racing. With one stage remaining, Gorban’s advantage over Indonesian driver Subhan Aksa stands at 3m15.6s.
