Aksa hopes
for 'home'
advantage
in NZ

Subhan Aksa says he hopes his decision to recruit co-driver Jeff Judd will boost his chances of success on Brother Rally New Zealand, his third appearance in this season's FIA Production Car World Rally Championship.

Judd, who is from Christchurch in New Zealand’s South Island, teamed up with Aksa for last month’s Acropolis Rally in place of Hade Mboi. They claimed a sensational second place in class in their Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.

Aksa, a 25-year-old from Indonesia, said: “I wanted to try new things and Jeff coming from New Zealand is going to give me an advantage for Rally New Zealand. The Acropolis Rally was all about not having problems and I felt excellent with the result. We had a very good car with no problems at all. Hopefully we can get more points in the next rallies.”

New Zealand holds fond memories for Aksa, who made his world championship debut there back in 2007 when he finished 40th overall. He also took part on the event the following season and eventually made the finish in 33rd position after restarting under Rally 2 regulations.
