Career Summary
Al-Attiyah’s move to Citroen under the Qatar World Rally Team banner for 2012 marked his first foray in the WRC’s big league. For 2013, he is moving to the new Qatar M-Sport World Rally Team. He will drive the Ford Fiesta RS WRC on seven rounds starting with February’s Rally Sweden.
His highlights of 2012 were outside the WRC: he was crowned FIA Middle East Rally Champion for the eighth time and, best of all, he was a London 2012 Olympic bronze medallist in mens' skeet shooting. Within the WRC, his best result was fourth place on Vodafone Rally de Portugal in April. Italian Giovanni Bernacchini will continue to co-drive in 2013.
