The Swedish ace, the SWRC winner on Rally Sweden in February, reached the A Final on his European Rallycross Championship debut at the Finnskoga circuit in his homeland recently.
Afterwards the double Junior world champion said he would be keen on entering more rallycross events when his commitments with PROTON Motorsports in rallying allow.
“The Supercars are great fun to drive and the racing is great, I would definitely do more rallycross,” Andersson told Motorsport News. “The Skoda [Fabia] I raced is a good car but I don’t think it’s a winning one. If I did this regularly I would like to have a top class car.”
Andersson qualified in sixth position for the A Final and was in second place when driveline failure forced his retirement on the last lap. His misfortune gifted the runner-up spot to his team boss Peter Hedstrom for his best ever finish in the series.
Thirty-two-year-old Andersson will be back on SWRC duty on Neste Oil Rally Finland next month in the PROTON Satria-Neo he shares with co-driver and fellow Swede Emil Axelsson.
