Stuart is the great, great grandson of the Tunnock’s company founder, Mr. Thomas Tunnock - hence his crash helmet design looks like a giant dark chocolate tea cake!
Following his father Fergus into co-driving, Stuart made his competition on the 2006 Mull Forest Stages, retiring from 2nd overall in John Gray’s Mk1 Escort.
After local events, he contested the 2010 British Rally Championship with John MacCrone in a Ford Fiesta R2. His performance earned him a place on the MSA Team UK scheme, in 2011.
In 2012 he contested the WRC Academy with MacCrone (Fiesta R2) and selected IRC and ERC events with Robert Barrable (Škoda Fabia S2000), before moving to the Fiesta R5 in WRC-2 in 2013.
