Alister McRae

With 75 starts at World Rally Championship level under his belt, few drivers boast McRae’s experience. However, 2012 will mark his first taste of SWRC competition although his links to the factory PROTON squad date back to 2009 when he scored a podium finish on his first event with the team. McRae, the younger brother of the late Colin McRae, will combine his SWRC bid with the defence of his FIA Asia Pacific title with the Malaysian manufacturer. A former British champion, the Australian-domiciled Scot enjoyed stints driving for the factory Hyundai and Mitsubishi teams in the WRC before switching his attention to the Production Car World Rally Championship and, latterly, the Dakar Rally.
