Jari-Matti Latvala crosses the line third fastest with a time of 2m44.5s, winning Wales Rally GB by 3m42.9s. Sebastien Ogier is among the first to arrive to congratulate the Finn, for whom this is the first rally win in 18 months. "At the end of the day we were quite lucky, the toughest fight was finished when Loeb had the accident, but I believe we could have won anyway," says co-driver Miika Anttila.

A cautious 2m47.7s secures the final podium place for an overjoyed Henning Solberg "I was very slow in there! I took it very carefully when I saw his [Meeke's] time. I have to go home tomorrow - meetings with sponsors so I can get a good drive again next year."

Kris Meeke finishes Wales Rally GB but that spin has cost him the podium. He stops the clock at 2m53.1s and isn't too disappointed: "We have to be happy with our weekend. It was a tall order and I blew it on the last one, just went a little wide. The car's performance has exceeded everyone's expectations and we're at a good level. We know where we need to improve for next year, and hopefully we can challenge for podiums more often."

A solid fifth place finish for Matthew Wilson in his final outing for M-Sport, coming through the Power Stage in 2m45.3s: "Tough weekend - a long rally and with everything that's gone on it's been quite difficult. I enjoyed the stages up there [in North Wales] and there were lots of spectators."

Ott Tanak has had an eventful first weekend in top-level machinery but he makes it to the finish and sixth place looks safe. 2m45.4s is third quickest through the Power Stage so far: "The most important thing for us was to finish. We had a long weekend - lots of different things happening!"

2m50.2s for Armindo Araujo, who finishes Wales Rally GB in 10th place: "It was bad all weekend with the setup of the car, I never found a good feeling but I never made any mistakes."

Ninth place looks secure for Ken Block as he crosses the line in 2m46.2s. "We have to be very happy with ninth place. This rally has been so tough," says co-driver Alex Gelsomino. "The slick conditions and fog really set me back the first couple of days. Getting to the finish makes me really happy," says Block.

Kris Meeke pulled an extraordinary amount of time out of the bag in the final kilometres of SS22, coming through the finishing line in 12m51.8s. That's 7.8s off Latvala but a significant 11.5s faster than Henning Solberg! He's now 1.8s behind Solberg with just the short Power Stage to go.

Kris Meeke is second fastest so far through the stage on 9m03.4s, now 13.3s behind Henning Solberg on the road with just one long stage to go. Crychan 2 is due to get underway at 11.03am after a two-minute silence has been observed.

Henning Solberg has a lot of work to do if he wants to keep that podium position because Kris Meeke is up on the split timings. Henning sets a time of 9m11.4s, 11.6s off Latvala’s pace: “It’s hard when I can’t get the rhythm but I’m pushing.”

The Citroen Total World Rally Team have confirmed that Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena have been involved in a road accident on the liaison stage before Time Control 19. No injuries are reported but Loeb's DS3 WRC is too badly damaged to continue.

He extends his lead by 1.4s, while Mads Ostberg is secure enough in third that the M-Sport team has been able to turn the engine down.
